Abstract:: The collection contains photographs and other images of members of the Richardson and Yarnall families, Pennsylvania Quakers who lived in Philadelpia and Byberry, Pennsylvania. The families were united by the marriage in 1816 of Nathaniel Richardson and Hannah Yarnall of Byberry. Of special interest are the silhouettes of members of the Richardson and Yarnall families created in the Peale Museum, Philadelphia

Abstract:: At its inception, Swarthmore College included a large preparatory department, but it began to play a secondary role by the early 1880s. In 1893, the preparatory division separated from the College and continued as a private institution, Swarthmore Preparatory School. This collection contains a card file of students who attended the Swarthmore College Preparatory School.
