Abstract:: The League of Women Voters (LWV) was established in 1919 to help educate women on the civic responsibilities of voting. The Abington-Cheltenham-Jenkintown branch, still active as of 2013, was established in 1951 and expanded in 1959. The League of Women Voters of Abington-Cheltenham-Jenkintown records, 1952-2009, include newsletters, minutes, programs, photographs, articles (clippings), government directories, correspondence, bylaws, membership directories, board meeting agendas and minutes.

Abstract:: Zelma Corning Brandt (1891-1990) was a social crusader active throughout the twentieth century. Her chief interests included the independence and development of colonial countries, American Indian affairs, nuclear disarmament, women's issues, and geriatric concerns. The collection consists of correspondence, travel notes, diaries and writings, and publications and reports, especially from 1960-1989. Brandt's longevity and attention to detail provide a complete view of various world and domestic issues and events through this period. Zelma Brandt attended Bryn Mawr College from 1909 to 1911.

Abstract:: Carrie Lane Chapman Catt (1859-1947) was an internationally recognized suffragist, and political activist. In 1900 Catt succeeded Susan B. Anthony as President of the National American Woman Suffrage Association, and remained in the position for four years. Catt founded the International Woman Suffrage Alliance in 1902 and served as its president for many years. During the 1930's and 1940's she was active in working against the Nazis, particularly their persecution of Jews. The Carrie Chapman Catt Papers focus on the history of the women's suffrage movement, with material pertaining both directly to her and to the movement as a whole, and consists of a variety of materials including letters, photographs, political cartoons and memorabilia.

Abstract:: The League of Women Voters was founded by Carrie Chapman Catt in 1920 to help women carry out their new responsibilities as voters. A non-partisan group, it encourages women to be active in politics by educating citizens about, and lobbying for, government and social reform legislation. The League of Women Voters of Delaware County is an Inter-League Organization comprised of three local League organizations in Delaware County, Pennsylvania: Central Delaware County, Haverford and Radnor. The League of Women Voters of Delaware County records, 1960-1999, include administrative and organizational records, event materials, and literature on local and national policy issues.
