Abstract:: Concord Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania was incorporated in 1683, and includes the four villages of Concordville, Elam, Markham and Ward. Originally in Chester County, the township became part of Delaware County when Chester County was partitioned in 1789. The Concord Township Historical Society subject files, circa 1900-2013, include newspaper clippings, photocopies of secondary and primary source documents, pamphlets and ephemera, and a few photos and primary source documents on various local history topics including people, churches, landmarks and historical organizations (such as Newlin Grist Mill and Newlin family), local businesses and organizations, buildings, maps, and railroads.

Abstract:: Established in 1721, Hilltown Township (Bucks County, Pennsylvania) remained a farming community up until the end of World War II. Construction of large housing developments started at the end of the 1970s. The Historical Society of Hilltown Township local history collection, 1790-2012, consists of various primary-source materials that document Hilltown Township individuals, families, businesses, and properties. These include deeds, personal papers relating to some of the first families of Hilltown, materials relating to area schools, historic site survey forms, photographs, and records of local businesses and organizations.

Largely agricultural for most of its history, Lower Makefield's population swelled with suburban development in the 20th century. The Lower Makefield Historical Society collection of oral histories, house histories, and scrapbooks, 1980-2009, includes audiocassette tapes, VHS tapes, narrative house histories, and photocopies of deeds, photographs, newspaper clippings, and other original items that document the local history of Lower Makefield Township.

Abstract:: Nether Providence Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, was incorporated in 1687. Over time, it progressed from a farming economy, to a manufacturing center with over a dozen mills, to a resort destination for wealthy Philadelphians, to a residential community. The Nether Providence Historical Society local history collection, 1825-2014 (bulk 1995-2014), consists of primary- and secondary-source materials relating to the residents, events, organizations, and structures, of Nether Providence Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Most of the collection is organized into subject files, but there are additional materials stored separately, including a sizeable accumulation of 19th and early 20th century papers from the Byer family.

Abstract:: Originally part of Buckingham Township, the township of Solebury in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was incorporated circa 1702. Industries, particularly farming, became prevalent in the area by the 19th century; the picturesque landscape also drew many prominent artists to the area. Edwin (Ned) Harrington (1920-2009), who was considered Solebury Township's unofficial historian, authored numerous publications and conducted a tremendous amount of research on various local history topics, particularly local families and historic properties. The Ned Harrington local research files and publications, circa 1980-2008, include Harrington's privately-published histories as well as his research files, which are organized into three series: family files; property files; and local history. There is also a small amount of materials that have been added over time by the Solebury Township Historical Society.

Abstract:: Catherine "Kitty" Reading Belville (1897-1995) was born in Yardley, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Belville was a 1919 graduate of Swarthmore College, and established the Belville Scholarship there in 1982 in honor of her parents. Having a strong interest in history, Belville was a member of the Colonial Yardley Association (predecessor of the Yardley Historical Association). The Catherine R. Belville family papers, 1885-1981 (bulk 1950-1980), mostly consist of the personal papers of Catherine R. Belville, including correspondence, diaries, ephemera, and photographs, as well as some papers relating to the Belville family. Many of the materials relate to Belville's time as a student at Swarthmore College and her continued association with the school. Also included are materials relating to the Colonial Yardley Association, genealogy research, and Yardley history research.

Thompson subject files on Lower Makefield Township, 1991-1998, consist of nine binders of local history research compiled by Thompson. In addition to short narrative histories written by Thompson on various local families, buildings, and other local topics, the collection includes photocopies of original documents such as deeds, wills, and photographs.

Newtown Square Historical Society local history collection, 1744-2013, includes various original manuscripts, secondary-source materials, and digital files that document the individuals, families, organizations, and landscape of the Newtown Square area. Materials in the collection include ledgers, photographs, letters, deeds, pamphlets, ephemera, maps, newspaper clippings, and photocopies and scans of articles and primary source documents.
