Abstract:: This is a collection of miscellaneous scientific prints, including ornithological, botanical, and conchology prints. Most of this material was collected by Seymour Adelman. Architecture Prints Collection, unknown (inclusive)

Extent:: 1 linear ft.
Abstract:: This collection contains a wide range of print materials related to architectural study and illustration. Mostly from the 19th century, these prints were most likely used as illustrations in bound or grouped collections, for study prints of architectural styles, or for leisure as keepsakes or collectable of particular places. Most of the collection contains prints of churches, ruins, and chateaus in Europe (mostly France). Although this is the bulk of the material, there are also a number of blueprints, and prints from America. The prints are mostly lithographs, but there are also several engravings. This collection would be useful for research related to architectural illustration, 19th century tourism, and 19th century print culture.

Seymour Adelman Personal Work, undated (inclusive)

Abstract:: This collection contains works created by or directly related to Seymour Adelman. In addition to being an avid collector, he was also an amateur illustrator and amateur print-maker. Also contained here is a book describing Adelman's collection of art and objects. This book might be helpful in researching the objects in other collections and in the Art and Artifact Collection

Abstract:: Founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1824, in honor of America's first scientist, Benjamin Franklin, The Franklin Institute is one of the oldest and most significant science institutes in the nation. Its mission is to inspire a passion for learning about science and technology. The Historical and Interpretive Collections of The Franklin Institute travel lantern slides collection, late 19th century-early 20th century, consists of images that depict a variety of locations, including several places in the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Chile, Asia, and the Philippines. The images are primarily of scenery and buildings, but subjects such as war vessels, ships, and railroads are also depicted.

Abstract:: Founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1824, in honor of America's first scientist, Benjamin Franklin, The Franklin Institute is one of the oldest and most important science institutes in the nation. Its mission is to inspire a passion for learning about science and technology. The Historical and Interpretive Collections of The Franklin Institute lantern slide collection on the life of Benjamin Franklin, late 19th century-early 20th century, consists of over one hundred and fifty lantern slides depicting various images of and related to Benjamin Franklin. Many slides are of paintings or other artistic interpretations of Franklin, locations related to Franklin, and documents pertaining to Franklin or other related subjects.

Abstract:: Robert Clemens Bucher (1911-2008) was former township supervisor for Lower Salford, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and a founder of the Goschenhoppen Historians. The Robert C. Bucher Photograph Project, circa late 20th century, consists of photographs and negatives of area properties taken by Bucher. It is arranged alphabetically by property name.

Hollingsworth Pearce Papers, undated (inclusive)

Extent:: 1 linear foot
Abstract:: Approximately 60 black and white photographs comprise this collection, documenting the work of Hollingsworth Pearce (1878-1936), Philadelphia designer, metalsmith and engraver. There is also a hand-written inventory of the photographed objects, which are primarily silver or pewter items Pearce crafted for several churches and chapels, such as altar and processional crosses, sanctuary lamps and a baptismal bowl. Tablets, trophy cups and bowls are also illustrated.
