Consists of two disbound photograph albums containing 1,025 mounted albumen photographs of various Indigenous peoples of North America, including portraits of delegates to Washington, D.C.; expedition photographs; and early Western studio portraits by American photographers. Most of the photographs in the albums are described in the Numerical Index of William Henry Jackson's Descriptive Catalogue of the Photographs of North American Indians (1877), which is pasted to the albums.

Abstract:
"Satan's Harbginer Encountered, His False News of a Trumpet Detected, His Crooked Ways in the Wildernesse, laid open to the view of the impartial & judicious, Being Some thing by way of answer to Daniel Leeds his book entitled News of a Trumpet Sounding in the Wildernesse etc. wherein is shown," as indicated by the title, was a response to Daniel Leed's publication, which criticized the Society of Friends and sought to correct the accusations made by Leeds. The original manuscript was written by Caleb Pusey (1650?-1727), and published in Philadelphia in 1700, though it is unknown who copied this volume. According to a book plate on the inside cover, this volume was originally owned by Asa Matlack, and was later loaned by him to the Library of Chester Monthly Meeting, in Moorestown, New Jersey.

The Saturday Evening Post was first published on August 4, 1821 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a weekly magazine. In 1897, the magazine was purchased by the Curtis Publishing Company. From 1916 to the 1960s, Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) created over 300 paintings for use as Post covers, contributing to his reputation as one of America's favorite native-born artists. The "Saturday Evening Post" covers by Norman Rockwell, 1918-1975, consist of over 300 covers of the Saturday Evening Post featuring Rockwell's illustrations.
