Abstract:: The office of the Secretary of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia was created during the organization of the College in 1787. The Secretary is the appointed officer of record. The position's original duties were to record the minutes and transactions of the College and preserve its documents and correspondence. As of 2018, the Office of the Secretary is still active; however, these records are now documented through the Executive Office. The Lecture and Event Files of the Office of the Secretary span the years 1875 to 1988; however, there are gaps in represented years. This collection consists mainly of memos, correspondence, flyers related to lectures and other special events held at and sponsored by the College.

Abstract:: This collection contains a small amount of Robert Campbell's correspondence, 1978-1980, from his tenure as President of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Robert E. Campbell was born in 1931. He received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1957 and specialized in diagnostic radiology. In 1975, Campbell was elected a Fellow of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and served as its President from 2006 to 2008.

Abstract:: In 2010, the Office of Operations was organized to oversee hospitality, front of house and receptionist, visitor services, hall and grounds, renovations, security, and the parking lot. Previously, at least as far back as 1991, the management of facilities and special events fell under the responsibilities of the Office of Institutional Advancement (as of 2015, merged with Office of Development and External Affairs and Office of Communications into the Office of Advancement). While the Office of Operations was not organized until 2010, much of the work fell under its direct predecessor, the Office of Programs and Internal Services, or was managed under the current (2019) Director of Operations, Antonia Oberthaler. The Lecture and Event Files of the Office of Operations span the years 1975 to 2019; however, the bulk of the material dates from 1991 through 2007. The Records of the Women's Committee span the years 1994 to 2008, and document the activities and membership of the Committee.

Abstract:: The Hemlock Society of Delaware Valley was a chapter of the national right-to-die organization The Hemlock Society. The mission of the Hemlock Society was "choice, dignity, and control at the end of life." The bulk of materials are society newsletters and news clippings about assisted suicide. This collection is separated into three series. The Chapter Papers series comprises miscellaneous papers associated with chapters of The Hemlock Society. Of note are papers detailing the merger of two Indiana Hemlock Societies and a report on cases of euthanasia, mercy killing, and suicide. The Events series contains program details of special events of the society. The Newsletters and Correspondence series houses local and national newsletters, as well as correspondence between Hemlock Society members. This collection was discovered during a survey in the summer and fall of 2015.

Abstract:: The Office of the Executive Director is the lead office in charge of administering the business of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The Executive Director oversees the activities of the College of Physicians staff including staff of the Historical Medical Library, the Mütter Museum, the Francis Clark Wood Institute, and the Finance Department. The Executive Director also oversees the College functions of institutional advancement, communications, membership, and special events. As a result, the records in this collection document the everyday administrative activities and governance of the College, and span the years 1953 to 2003 (Bulk 1977 to 2003). Documents consist of correspondence, memoranda, reports, pamphlets of outside organizations, financial reports, minutes, and agendas. This collection is divided into six series.
