Abstract:: Great American Management and Investment Inc. (GAMI) is a diversified holding company as well as a manufacturer of electrical equipment. In March of 1977, GAMI filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The records of Great American Management Investment are comprised of the documents of the initial pleadings and the closing documents. Within each series, the material may contain petitions, applications, stays, memorandums, correspondence, and other related documents.

Abstract:: In 1964, the American Law Institute (ALI) secured funding to examine and codify the law relating to land use and development. The resulting document was the Model Land Development Code, adopted by the ALI in May 1975. The collection, 1960-1974 and undated, includes preliminary studies, drafts, memoranda, correspondence, and related material concerning the drafting and adoption of the Model Land Development Code.

Authors are Mr. W. W. Keen Butcher and Top of the Hill Associates. Frederick W. G. Peck did landscape design and Ueland and Junker, Architects, did the plans.

Abstract:: Thomas Winfield South (1847-1922) moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1872 to work for the Disston & Sons Saw Works as manager and land-agent for the Disston-owned properties in the Tacony section of the city. Heavily involved in real estate, transportation, and local politics and government, South became a prominent figure in Tacony and the city at large. Like his cousins Hamilton Disston (1844-1896) - the largest single investor in Florida's history - and Jacob Disston (1862-1938), South was involved with the development of central Florida. The Thomas W. South papers, 1861-1919, primarily consist of correspondence and legal papers that document South's various political and business engagements in Philadelphia. The collection also contains correspondence of the St. Petersburg Investment Company, 1905-1919 (bulk 1911-1912), an organization founded by Jacob Disston and fellow Philadelphian investors to finance development projects in and around Disston lands in Florida. Abstract:: At the turn of the 20th century, the Roberts family of Lower Merion, Pennsylvania decided to consolidate its remaining farm land and form the Lower Merion Realty Company. The company successfully developed land along a new train line, conveniently constructed under the direction of Pennsylvania Railroad president George Brooke Roberts. The collection "Lower Merion Realty Company minute book, photographs, and brochures, circa 1880-1952," contains the minute book of meetings of Stockholders and Directors, 1906-1952, and one binder of photographs with two brochures.
