Abstract:: Pauline A. Young was an educator, librarian, and activist primarily based in Wilmington, Delaware. The collection contains correspondence, clippings, photographs, and ephemera. The majority of the material relates to Young's efforts to bring attention to and preserve information about the life and works of her aunt, Alice Dunbar-Nelson, as well as her aunt's first husband, Paul Laurence Dunbar.

Abstract:: These letters from American poet Charles Henri Ford (and others) to publishers Charles and Pamela Plymell concern publication plans for Ford's Om Krishna II (Cherry Valley Editions, 1981). In addition to Ford's letters there are single letters from Beat poet Allen Ginsberg, Nepalese artist Indra Tamang, bookbinder Alan Brilliant, writer Ed Germain, and the Plymells. A draft typescript of Om Krishna II, a book cover for the limited edition title, and biographical information about Ford are also contained in the collection.

Abstract:: American poet and publisher Jonathan Williams (1929-2008), often associated with the Beat poets and the Black Mountain School, is known as a founder of The Jargon Society, a publishing firm that popularized the poetry of the post-World War II American avant-garde. The Michael von Uchtrup collection of Jonathan Williams correspondence and ephemera details the relationship that developed between Williams and von Uchtrup in the 1990s and provides insight into Williams's publishing career, writing, travels, and daily life.
