Was founded in 1970 "to foster research and education in the areas of peace and conflict resolution" as a nonprofit educational organization with both institutional and individual members; goal was to facilitate communication among those engaged in peace studies, peace education, and policy research; provided publications, resources, and consulting services, and sponsors conferences and workshops; in 2002, merged with the Peace Studies Association to form the Peace and Justice Studies Association.

Abstract:
New Call to Peacemaking began as a cooperative effort of Brethren, Quakers and Mennonites. It was founded in 1975 to reinvigorate the understanding of and commitment to nonviolence and peacemaking within those faith communities. After 1982, a decision was made to shift the direction of New Call from revitalizing the peace testimony within the historic peace churches to more contact and relationship with other Christian groups open to the search for a more faithful peace witness.

American School Citizenship League Collected Records, 1908-1930 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Founded in 1908 by Fannie Fern Andrews, the American School Peace League was intended to promote peace by introducing principles of international justice and fraternity into the curricula of U.S. schools. The League distributed circulars, leaflets and booklets for classroom use, including poetry, endorsements for peace from statesmen and military leaders, accounts of peace activity, information regarding other peoples and cultures, and a series of programs designed to further the message of international peace. The League continued to function until the death of Fannie Fern Andrews in 1950.

Fannie Fern Andrews Collected Papers, 1906-1940; 1997 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Fannie Fern Phillips Andrews founded the American School Peace League (which changed its name to the American School Citizenship League in 1919). She was also a founding member of the Woman's Peace Party, and was one of the delegates to the International Committee of the International Congress of Women at The Hague in 1915. She was appointed by President Roosevelt to serve as a delegate to international conferences on education in 1934 and 1936.

The Center was organized in 1966 by the New York Friends Group to carry out community and adult education on world affairs and U.S foreign policy issues. The Center's name was changed to Center for Global Perspectives in 1976, but a subsequent reorganization restored the original name.
