Abstract:: Katharine "Kay" E. Reichert was an Air Force nurse who served with the Far East Air Force in Japan during the Korean War. After her return to the United States, Reichert earned her B.S. in Nursing Education from the University of Pennsylvania and then her M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The bulk of this collection is comprised of photo albums and scrapbooks documenting daily life and excursions to destinations around Japan. Also included are official and personal papers and ephemera, yearbooks from Reichert's studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and artifacts such as medical bag and equipment, military insignias and honors, and door signs.

Abstract:: This collection consists of notes taken by Mary V. Clymer, a nurse famous for her appearance in Thomas Eakins' painting "The Agnew Clinic." Clymer was a student at the Training School for Nurses at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, from 1888 to 1889. The notes documented the variety of experiences which were part of her educational program.

Abstract:: The Professional Nurse Educators Group was formed in 1969 by the American Nurses Association's Council on Continuing Education (later Professional Development) that was disbanded in 1999. Since 2000 the Group continues to hold unofficial conferences to meet the networking and educational needs of its members. Abstract:: This collection spans Neville Strumpf's personal and professional life, in particular her tenure at the University of Pennsylvania. Documents include personal correspondence with her parents and with friends, her career at Penn, the development of the Center for Gerontological Nursing, and her time as Interim Dean. Also includes some of the numerous publications and papers she wrote and, most notably, her research work with reducing restraint use among the frail elderly in nursing homes.
