Abstract:
In 2010, the Office of Operations was organized to oversee hospitality, front of house and receptionist, visitor services, hall and grounds, renovations, security, and the parking lot. Previously, at least as far back as 1991, the management of facilities and special events fell under the responsibilities of the Office of Institutional Advancement (as of 2015, merged with Office of Development and External Affairs and Office of Communications into the Office of Advancement). While the Office of Operations was not organized until 2010, much of the work fell under its direct predecessor, the Office of Programs and Internal Services, or was managed under the current (2019) Director of Operations, Antonia Oberthaler. The Lecture and Event Files of the Office of Operations span the years 1975 to 2019; however, the bulk of the material dates from 1991 through 2007. Abstract:
The Section on Medical History was founded in 1904. In 1905, the Section began holding meetings at which lectures on medical history were presented, inviting papers from physicians and scholars from a variety of backgrounds. By the 1970s, the section had become the sponsor of several annual lectures, including the Kate Hurd Mead Lecture (co-sponsored by the [Woman's] Medical College of Pennsylvania, now Drexel College of Medicine) which was started in 1952 and the Samuel X. Radbill Lecture (1974). As of 2019, the Section on Medical History remains an active body of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The Records of the Section on Medical History III span the years 1966 to 2004, and consist of correspondence, annual reports, lecture announcements, speaker information, and Executive Committee minutes. Abstract:
The Section on Medical History was founded in 1904. In 1905, the Section began holding meetings at which lectures on medical history were presented, inviting papers from physicians and scholars from a variety of backgrounds. Calvin W. and Gwendolyn T. Schwabe Family Correspondence, 1950-1970 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Calvin W. Schwabe (born in 1927) is a veterinarian and public health scientist. He married Gwendolyn Joyce Thompson (nicknamed "Tippy") in 1951. In 1954, the Schwabes joined the Society of Friends. From 1956 to 1966, Calvin Schwabe was a member of the medical and public health facilities of the American University of Beirut. Beginning in 1960, he served as a consultant to the World Health Organization. In 1966, he established the first department and graduate program in epidemiology with a school of veterinary medicine at the University of California, Davis, and served as Professor of Epidemiology within the veterinary and medical schools until his retirement in 1991. The collection contains photocopies of family letters, 1950-1978, sent by Gwendolyn ("Tippy") Schwabe with notes from Cal Schwabe to their parents, 1950 to 1978. Elizabeth Fee (1946-2018) was a professor, historian, and leading figure in the history of science, medicine, and public health during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The Elizabeth Fee papers date from circa 1920-2018 (bulk 1946-2018) and primarily consist of correspondence, documents, and ephemera relating to Fee's professional life, work, writings, and research. Documents, correspondence, and ephemera from her early life and her personal diaries are also well represented.
