Abstract:
The Alan Wood Steel Company, established in 1826, was an iron production company located in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania along the Schuylkill River. The Conshohocken Historical Society Alan Wood Steel Company collection, 1928-1920, is comprised of assorted published and unpublished materials on the Alan Wood Steel Company, including annual reports, pamphlets, brochures, books, and scrapbooks, as well as a small amount of correspondence, financial records, and artifacts.

Phoenix Iron Company records, 1879-1986 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Established in 1790 and incorporated in 1855, the Phoenix "works" produced nails, railroad rails, Civil War cannons, and structural steel. Among its well known products were the Griffen Gun, 1861, and the Phoenix Column, 1862. In the 1860s the Phoenix Bridge Company was created as a separate division. The Phoenix works closed in 1987. The Phoenix Iron Company records, 1879-1985, include employee records, utility usage readings, stockholder minutes, correspondence, specifications and work orders, financial papers, contracts, shipping postcards, annual reports, and various other company records.

Lukens Steel Company records, 1960-1998 (bulk) 1861-1998 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Founded in 1810 by Isaac Pennock (1767-1824) in Coatesville (Chester Country, Pennsylvania), Lukens Steel Company became a huge force in the United States' iron and steel industry as a result of innovative methods and production. It was run for a time by the first female chief executive officer of an industrial company in the country, Rebecca Webb Pennock Lukens (1794-1854). In 1998, Lukens was purchased by Bethlehem Steel; as of 2013, under the ownership ArcelorMittal Steel, the Coatesville mill stands as the oldest continuously operating steel mill in the country. The Lukens Steel Company records, 1861-1998 (bulk, 1960-1998), consist of numerous materials that document the history of Lukens Steel Company, including administrative and employee records; research and development records, financial records, executive records, Lukens Store records, special formats, and company publications.

Abstract:
Established in 1790 and incorporated in 1855, the Phoenix "works" in Phoenixville (Chester County, Pa.) produced nails, railroad rails, Civil War cannons, weaponry for 20th century wars, and structural steel. Among its well known products were the Griffen Gun, 1861, and the Phoenix Column, 1862. It closed in 1987. The Phoenix Iron Company technical drawings, 1855-1985, are mostly of equipment used by the company, as well as items they produced and a few maps.

Jacob Miller Haldeman business letters, 1813-1853 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Jacob Miller Haldeman (1781-1857) was a successful iron monger and businessman. He was one of the incorporators of the Chestnut Hill Iron Ore Company, of Columbia, in 1851, and was also one of the incorporators and managers of the Susquehanna Tide Water Canal Company. Additionally, he was one of the founders and a director of the Dauphin Deposit Bank in Harrisburg and was a large stockholder in the Harrisburg Bank, of which he was president starting in 1853, until the time of his death. The bulk of this collection consists of business letters to Jacob Miller Haldeman, most of which are from businessmen in Baltimore, Maryland. The letters address businesses that Haldeman was involved in, including iron, flour, canals, and property.

Abstract:
Collection concerning Florentine families, organizations, trades, and industries covering the years 1437-1804. The documents that compose the collection are divided into two broad sections, one dedicated to families and organizations, and the other to subjects. The former, arranged alphabetically by name, then chronologically for each family or organization, features documents pertaining to about 130 among the most important Florentine families, as well as institutions such as the Monte di pietà and the hospital of Santa Maria Novella (referred to as Spedale). The families that are best-known in the collection include the Acciaiuoli, Altoviti, Antinori, Corsi, Corsini, Guadagni, Rucellai, Salviati, and Strozzi; the best-represented families in the collection are the Amadori, Capponi, Cassi, Lapini, and Ricciardi.
