Abstract:: The Paul Bowles collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts, editorial matter, periodicals, ephemera, and miscellaneous material acquired from a variety of sources. The collection is added to periodically and complements the Paul Bowles papers (MSS 0163) as well as several other manuscript collections related to Paul Bowles at the University of Delaware Library.

Abstract:: Moroccan author and artist Mohammed Mrabet (born 1940) worked closely with American expatriate writer and musician Paul Bowles (1910-1999). This collection contains letters from several of Mrabet's friends and acquaintances, most notably from American writers and editors Irving Stettner (1922-2004) and Michael Wolfe (born 1945). Also included are reviews of Mrabet's works and photocopied dust jackets from his books.

Abstract:: Originally compiled by bookseller Chloe's Books, this collection contains uncorrected proofs of poetry collections written by various authors between 1984 and 1998, arranged alphabetically by the last name of the author or editor. These advance proofs allowed authors to make corrections to the books before the final versions were printed and released. Publicity materials that were originally laid into the proofs, including newsletters, press releases, publishers' letters to reviewers, and other ephemera, are found throughout the collection.

Abstract:: Zephyrus Image, founded by Holbrook Teter and Michael Myers, was a small Northern California press operating from approximately 1969-1983, notable for its socially- and politically-subversive books and ephemera and its fine works on paper. The Zephyrus Image records document the activities of the California press and its proprietors and the planning and development of roughly 300 printed works of poetry and political and satirical books and ephemera. Zephyrus Image projects were created for and in collaboration with a host of literary and artistic figures, including Edward Dorn, Tom Raworth, William T. Wiley, Lucia Berlin, Stan Brakhage, and Robert Creeley.

Abstract:: Collection of typescript and typescript (photocopy) manuscripts of work by Isabelle Eberhardt as translated and edited by Paul Bowles for Robert Sharrard at City Lights. Includes: The Breath of of Night, Outside, Preface to Eberhardt's book, Achoura, The Rival, Taalith, Blue Jacket, a letter to the editor of La Petite Gironde, Diary notes, The Country, pencilled notes, and letters to a newspaper editor. The manuscripts bear Bowles's autograph revisions.
