Abstract:
In addition to thousands of written and printed documents, photographs and other visual images, the University Archives also houses a burgeoning memorabilia collection. Numbering over 1,500 items, memorabilia enhance and complete millions of words of historical text with their unique, three-dimensional quality. The memorabilia collection spans items dating from the late 1700's to the twenty-first century. The items in this collection are related to University of Pennsylvania founders and stewards, as well as to Penn history, traditions, organizations, schools and centers, athletics, and intellectual pursuits.

Abstract:
When the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania opened in 1875, the Dispensary for Nervous Diseases was one of seven dispensaries at the Hospital. The Dispensary Notebooks for Neurological Disorders consists of daily log of neurological cases treated and cases studies on patient treatment grouped by specific diagnosis for the late nineteenth century.William G. Spiller Reprints which include papers authored by William G. Spiller and a papers by physicians associated with the William Pepper Laboratory.

Abstract:
The Department of English Records document student essays written in the mid twentieth century. The majority of the collection contains senior honors theses from 1948 to 1968 which cover a variety of topics relating to both American and British literature. The collection also contains student essays from the 1970s.

Abstract:
G. Holmes Perkins became Dean of the School of Fine Arts in 1951 succeeding George Simpson Koyl. He served in that capacity through to 1971, overseeing changes in the curriculum and structure of the School in the second half of the twentieth century. The Records for G. Holmes Perkins tenure as dean of the School of Design reflect the administrative and academic activities of the school from about 1950 to 1965.

Clinical Lectures in Surgery were conducted from 1844 to 1869 at the University Dispensary at the Ninth Street Campus. The Clinical Surgery Records provide a record of the patients, doctors, and treatment conduced at the Surgical Clinic and used for instruction by the medical faculty.
