Abstract:: Ruth Branning Molloy, a poet, writer, photographer, and Philadelphia historian, enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania in 1926. After earning a B.S. in education from Penn, Ruth Branning went to work for The Philadelphia Inquirer. The Ruth Branning Molloy Papers mostly document Mrs. Molloy's life in West Philadelphia and her association with her alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania.

Bernard Carl Kuczynski Football Playbook, 1941-1949 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Bernard Carl Kuczynski enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his B.S. in Educ in 1943 and his M.S. in Educ. in 1949. At Penn Kuczynski played both varsity football and varsity baseball. The collection consists of a binder that includes hand-written, typed and stamped illustrations and descriptions of football plays.

R. Tait (Robert Tait) McKenzie Papers, 1880-1940 (inclusive)

Abstract:: R. Tait McKenzie, physician, physical therapist, physical educator, and sculptor, served the University of Pennsylvania as its first Professor of Physical Education, 1904 -1929. Wishing to be relieved of the administrative work required of his position, McKenzie took a year's leave of absence in 1929-1930 and in 1931 was appointed J. William White Research Professor of Physical Education. His new post permitted him to focus his efforts almost exclusively on his sculpture. The collection of R. Tait McKenzie documents the entire span of his career, as physician, educator, and sculptor.

Abstract:: Harold Taubin (1920-1991) was the first person at the University of Pennsylvania to hold the position which is today known as the University Architect. The collection documents the planning process for the physical expansion of the University of Pennsylvania campus in West Philadelphia during the second half of the twentieth century.

Abstract:: Aaron T. Beck started his career at the University of Pennsylvania in 1954. At the University of Pennsylvania, Beck formulated his cognitive model of depression and cognitive therapy of depression in 1962. This collection includes two major series, which are the records of the Center for the Cognitive Therapy, of which Beck has been the founder and Director, and the material, in the forms of notes, papers and manuscripts, of all research done by Beck and his associates.

Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary Records, 1862-2008 (inclusive) 2001-2006 (bulk)

Abstract:: To celebrate Benjamin Franklin's 300th birthday, which fell on January 17, 2006, five institutions in the Philadelphia area formed in 2000 an alliance named Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary Consortium. The Consortium initiated a grand multifaceted and internationally-involving scenario for the celebration. The full name of the project is Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary, or "Ben Franklin 300, 1706-2006." This collection documents the organization, planning and operation of the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary from the time the BFT Consortium was established in 2000 till the project was wrapped up in mid 2008.

Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Board of Managers Records, 1874-1972 (inclusive)

Abstract:: The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania originated as part of the University's move to West Philadelphia. The school's Medical faculty and alumni petitioned the Board of Trustees for a University run hospital to provide clinical instruction for students. The Trustees agreed and formally established the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in June 1871. The Records document the administrative and financial history of the Hospital.
