Abstract:: Isaac Baer Levinsohn (1788-1860) was a Russian-Hebrew scholar and writer who is considered a founder of the Russian Haskalah (enlightenment). This collection consists of thirty-seven letters and/or documents (probably intended for specific recipients) written by Isaac Baer Levinsohn to notable Russian Jews about a wide range of issues including his published works Bet Yehudah and Te'udah be-Yisrael.

Abstract:: Isaac Leeser (1806-1868) was a rabbi, educator, writer, translator, editor and publisher; and proposed, founded, or led many significant civic, religious, and charitable institutions. This collection consists of letters, largely written to or from Isacc Leeser, that bear witness to Leeser's efforts to build the infrastructure of organized Jewish life in an English-speaking environment.

Abstract:: Dr. Nehemiah Robinson (1898-1964) was a lawyer, the director of the Institute of Jewish Affairs of the World Jewish Congress, and an authority on indemnification and reparations and war crimes following World War II and the persecution of the Jewish peoples. These two volumes contain eight reports written by Robinson for the Institute of Jewish Affairs relating to restitution legislation and court practices, as well as official and unofficial actions and views on reparations across the world.

Abstract:: The Abraham Anscher papers comprise a detailed narrative of an 1883-1884 expedition through southern African written by the exploring party leader, Anscher, who was a Jewish Chicago immigrant. His narrative details various places in South Africa including: Botswana, Matabeleland, the Transvaal, along the Zambezi River, and beyond. Some correspondence is also included.
