Abstract:: T. Atkinson Jenkins (1868-1935) was a Quaker and a university professor. The collection contains chiefly correspondence, questionnaires, notes, clippings, and other papers, relating to Jenkins's collection of information on Friends' attitudes to the Mexican and Civil wars, information which was designed to be part of the reassessment of the Quaker peace testimony in preparation for the first Friends World Conference (London, 1920). Also includes bibliography of Jenkins' writings on French language and literature.

Abstract:: Approximately 500 letters (also a few clippings, poems and other items) of the related Clark and Winston families of Virginia and Indiana. Letters discuss family and friends, the small schools that many members of these families began in the Midwest, as well as comments on politics, slavery, religion, education, the Civil War and friends/family fighting in the Confederate army, and other topics.
