Abstract:
John James Audubon (1785-1851) was a French-American ornithologist, naturalist, and painter known for his The Birds of North America. Mill Grove, the first home of John James Audubon in America, was sold to Montgomery County in 1951 and turned into a museum. The John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove collection, 1726-2002, contains miscellaneous photographs, pamphlets, documents, scrapbooks, and other materials relating to the Mill Grove Audubon Center, the Audubon Society, the property at Mill Grove before and after Audbudon occupancy, and the Audubon family.

Abstract:
John d'Arcy Northwood (1897-1972) was the first director/curator of the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. An avid, life-long birder, he was the founder and president of the Audubon Society of Hawaii, authored Familiar Hawaiian Birds (1940), and worked for the National Audubon Society in Florida and New Jersey as well as Pennsylvania. The heart of the J. d'Arcy Northwood papers, 1910-1966, are five bird-watching journals. There is also an index to some of the journals, a clippings scrapbook, and two published pamphlets in the collection.

St. James' Episcopal Church, Collegeville is located in Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is also referred to as St. James' Church, Perkiomen and St. James', Evansburg. The congregation, still active as of 2012, traces its origins to early worship services conducted in 1700 by the Reverend Evan Evans. The St. James' Episcopal Church records, 1788-2012, include parish registers and vital records, vestry minutes, church financial and administrative records, women's groups records, and materials from "Colonial Christmas" events.

Edward Platts and Ralph Bayfield collection on the Evansburg dam, 1960-1975 (inclusive)

Abstract:
In the 1960s, the Pennsylvania Department of Forests and Waters began planning a 86 foot dam in the Skippack Valley area of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Local opposition, including several members of St. James' Episcopal Church, was strong, and the Evansburg dam was never built. The Edward Platts and Ralph Bayfield collection on the Evansburg dam, 1960-1975, consists of five scrapbooks, several government reports, research on dams, and a map.
