Abstract:: Award-winning American author, educator, and political activist Kay Boyle (1902-1992) was a prominent member of the American expatriate modernist circle of the 1920s and 1930s. Boyle's later years are characterized by her extensive political activism. The Kay Boyle letters to Helga Einsele document Boyle's decades-long friendship with criminologist and prison reformer Helga Einsele (1910-2005). The collection comprises letters from Boyle and their enclosures, drafts of Einsele's replies, photographs of Boyle, as well as clippings of articles honoring Boyle at the end of her life and after her death.

Abstract:: The Dun Ailinne, Ireland Excavation Records are housed in 5 boxes, plus oversized material in Print Cabinet P-11 and Map Case M-10. It includes correspondence, financial records, field notes, maps and drawings, artifact drawings, information regarding artifact analysis, progress reports and publications, artifact inventories, photographic prints and negatives and 35 mm slides from years ranging from 1968 to 2005 (Bulk 1968-1975).

Abstract:: Bernard Wailes was born April 2, 1934 in St. Mawgan, Cornwall, England. He attended St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, and graduated with a B.A. (with honors) in 1957. He did research in archaeology between 1957 and 1961 and earned a M.A. in 1961. Wailes instructed in Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania and became an assistant for the Mediterranean Section of the University Museum beginning in 1961, and a Research Associate for the Applied Science Center of Archaeology beginning in 1962. The collection consists of 276 post cards of places and objects from Wailes personal files.
