Reifsnyder - Gillam Genealogical Papers, 1900-1902 (inclusive)

Abstract:
These genealogical papers on the Reifsnyder and Gillam families and collateral lines were collected by Howard Reifsnyder of Philadelphia and Langhorne, Pa. Most of the research was done by Ann Lane Scolley, dated 1901. Howard Reifsnyder was married in 1891 to Hannah Gillam, a descendant of a long-time Quaker family. Families in these genealogical papers are Pennsylvania Quakers, including Gillam, Conrad/Kunders, Lloyd, Wilson, Preston, and some Welsh research.. Pennsylvania German families include Reifsnyder and Longenecker/Longacre.

Donald Carre Turner Genealogical Research Papers, 1856-1990 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Donald Carré Turner (1909-1989) was a construction executive, a genealogist, and an alumnus of Swarthmore College. After his retirement in 1972, Turner devoted much of his time to genealogy. The Turner family was from the Eastern Shore of Maryland and came to this country from England in the seventeenth century. Earlier generations were members of Third Haven and Cecil Monthly Meetings. Lineal surnames include Carré, Birch, Caulk, Betterton, Wilson, Jefferey, Homestead, Course, Sinclair, Williams, and many others. The collection consists primarily of the contents of binders assembled by Donald C. Turner in his research on the genealogy of his family. Turner meticulously documented his sources, and included copies of most of the relevant papers. The names of the files in Series 1 are those used by Turner. Most of the material consists of notes and copies of documents, but there are a few original records.

Hannah Wilson papers, 1836-1860 (bulk) 1795-1920 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Primarily manuscript letters addressed to Hannah Wilson of Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, a member of Gwynedd Monthly Meeting. Most of the correspondents were family and friends of the Wilson, Schofield, and Williams families. The letters contain family news with reference to social and political concerns including slavery and abolition. The letters were transcribed and published with annotations. The collection also contains photographs of the Mills family (Hannah's sister-in-law's family}, a commonplace book of Jane Maris, and some related papers.

Abstract:
Correspondence includes letters written by Amos W. Bacon of Philadelphia to his children, to Samuel W. Bacon from his father and brother while he was at Westtown School, and a love letter from Thomas Bacon to his future wife, Elizabeth Hall. Also contains the probate copy of the will of Charles West, Elizabeth Hall's copy book, the journal of Jane Wilson Bacon, and genealogical material on the entire family.

Photographs from the E. Raymond Wilson Papers, 1930-1981 (inclusive)

Abstract:
E. Raymond Wilson (1896-1987), a Quaker peace lobbyist, helped found the Friends Committee on National Legislation in 1943 and served as its Executive Secretary until 1962. He also helped organize the Committee on Militarism in Education in 1925. From 1931 to 1943, he served as Field and Education Secretary of the Peace Section of the American Friends Service Committee. He was the author of two books. This collection of photographs contains family photographs, greeting cards, and newspaper articles about his family and friends (all Quakers).

The Woodrow Wilson Collection consists of Wilson holdings which have been acquired by the Princeton University Library Special Collections gradually over many years by purchase and gifts from many sources. The collection is rich in material prior to Wilson's presidential years, although it is not limited to this period; researchers will find materials documenting both the public and private life of Woodrow Wilson. Various types of information written by or about Wilson are present in the collection, including manuscripts, addresses, articles, correspondence, telegrams, legal documents, booklets, pamphlets, photographs, portraits, cartoons, newspapers and scrapbooks.
