Abstract:: Harry Dixon Jr. (1944-2006), a lawyer from Nebraska, wanted to form an organization with the dual purpose of providing Congress with expert and unbiased views on legislation and creating an institution that could keep the bankruptcy community aware of legislative activities affecting them. In February 1982, Dixon incorporated under Nebraska law this new organization which was to be called the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). The records of the American Bankruptcy Institute document two main areas of the organization: the history and operating activities of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the organization's professional activities, publications, and research on bankruptcy related issues. The materials date from 1982-2013, with the bulk from 1985-1996. Abstract:: In 1977, the American Law Institute (ALI) commissioned a review of the principles, customs, and laws that related to operating a corporation, known the Principles of Corporate Governance project. Work on the project culminated in 1992, when the ALI formally adopted the Principles of Corporate Governance. A set of reporter's notes, which reflected the analysis and scholarship of the reporters on the project, was published in 1994. The collection, 1981-1990, includes meeting records, drafts, letters, comments, and other records related to the drafting of the Principles of Corporate Governance, a project that aimed to summarize the conditions under which corporations lawfully conduct operations.

Abstract:: Lawrence Waggoner is considered a prominent figure in law reform in the field of wills, trusts, and future interests. Not only did Waggoner teach law for 44 years, he also had an influential role outside the classroom. He served as adviser for the Restatement (Third) of Trusts, reporter for the Restatement (Third) of Property, Wills, and Other Donative Transfers, director of research for the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Trusts and Estates Acts, reporter for the Uniform Probate Code which he completed the revisions for in 2008, and one of his last publications was the last volume of the Restatement (Third) of Property: Wills and Other Donative Transfers. He presented the draft at the annual meeting of the American Law Institute, May 2010.
