Abstract:: This collection is made up of LGBT-related poetry, prose, music, and photography chapboooks produced from the 1960s through the current day, most from the 1970s and 1980s. The majority of the materials are in the poetic genre, but literature including short stories and plays are included, as well as books of lyrics and musical notation, and books of photography, especially those which include creative texts alongside the graphics material.

Abstract:: Adalbert Riedl (1898-1979) was a teacher, politician, museum director, collector, and folklorist from the Austrian state of Burgenland, a region with strong ties to today's Hungary. The Adalbert Riedl collection contains nearly 700 titles, mostly prayers and religious songs in leaflet or chapbook form. Additionally, there is a collection of 28 printed leaflets bound into a single volume (Sammelband) and a small number of manuscripts in German Kurrentschrift. The bulk of the collection was printed in the 19th century. There are a few pieces from the 18th century and a few from the early 20th century. The items are primarily in the German language, many printed in Fraktur, and a small number are in Hungarian, as well as Croatian, Czech, Slovakian, and Slovenian.

Abstract:: The Common Press is the letterpress printing studio at the University of Pennsylvania and was founded at the University of Pennsylvania on January 17, 2006, the 300th anniversary of Benjamin Franklin's birth. It was conceived as an interdisciplinary project by Kelly Writers House (a writer-centered community founded at the University of Pennsylvania in 1995); the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts; and the University of Pennsylvania Fine Arts program, to create an environment encouraging collaboration among students with an emphasis on working among digital and analog design, writing, and image making. Projects included in this collection, dated 1998 to 2016, consist of broadsides, posters, flyers, postcards, cards, and chapbooks, and were created using a variety of printing processes and techniques.

Abstract:: The African market literature collection measures .66 linear feet in two boxes and dates from circa 1950s to 1974. It is comprised of 67 pamphlets and books, published in Africa, mostly Nigeria, which represent popular literature, history, and, "how to"-style publications. Onitsha market literature refers to the popular, sensational, stories that make up Nigerian pulp fiction in the years before and immediately following Nigerian independence.

Abstract:: Wilma Heston began buying chapbooks in Peshawar's Bazaar of the Storytellers (Qissa Khwani Bazaar) in 1982. The chapbooks were initially intended to provide texts for Pashto verse narratives that were sung, recorded and then sold in audio-cassette form.

Abstract:: Kathryn Hansen is a professor emerita in the Department of Asian studies at the University of Texas at Austin who specializes in South Asian languages and literatures (Hindi, Urdu, and Sanskrit); literary, cultural, and historical studies of South Asia; folk and classical performance of music and dance; history of theatrical practices in North India; early Indian film history; gender studies and feminist theory; and diaspora and ethnicity studies. This collection is comprised of chapbooks, studies and anthologies, and recordings related to Indian folk dramas and tales.
