Abstract:: The attorney and author Joseph Gold was born in London, England, on July 12, 1912; he died on February 22, 2000, in Bethesda, Maryland. The Sir Joseph Gold political and miscellaneous ephemera collection comprises .67 linear feet of newsletters, pamphlets, posters, blank letterhead, and typed pages from the 1960s through the 1990s.

Abstract:: John Furnival (1933-2020) was a British visual artist whose work is associated with the Concrete Poetry, Mail Art, and Fluxus movements, as well as with the American Beats. In 1964, Furnival, along with Dom Sylvester Houédard, founded Openings Press, a small Gloucestershire press dedicated to publishing concrete poetry and similar work. The John Furnival papers encompass nearly fifty years of the artist's personal and professional activity and document his involvement with the International Concrete Poetry and Mail Art movements through correspondence, publications, broadsides, and posters.
