Abstract:: Philadelphia Quaker Women was a organization, informal in structure and membership, which worked with the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends to address the concerns of women. It was laid down in 1970. This collection contains minutes, financial reports, correspondence, and miscellaneous material, 1961-1971.

Abstract:: Carol R. Murphy (1916-1994) was a Quaker writer. She was the daughter of Mildred Knight Murphy (1889-1974) and Charles R. Murphy (1884-1936) who were convinced Friends. Carol R. Murphy was a member of Swarthmore Monthly Meeting and active at Pendle Hill Quaker Study Center, Wallingford, Pennsylvania. The papers of Carol R. Murphy, late twentieth century Quaker writer, are organized into two series. Series 1 contains autobiographical material and memorabilia, literary manuscripts, published articles, and notes by Carol R. Murphy. Series 2 contains Mildred K. Murphy's commonplace and sketchbooks, dating circa 1918 to 1969.

Abstract:: Bainbridge C. Davis (1910-1993) was a Quaker active in many concerns and organizations. He worked as a Foreign Service Officer, serving in Venezuela, Jamaica, Chile, and Panama. He retired early, at the age of 62, to devote himself to Quaker causes. He worked to improve race relations and opposed U.S. support for dictatorships. Organizations and committees which he was active in include the Friends World Committee for Consultation, American Friends Service Committee, and Pendle Hill. He was a Philadelphia Yearly Meeting representative to the World Conference of Friends in 1979 and 1991. This collection contains the papers and documents amassed by Davis relating to these various Quaker organizations, including the Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC), the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and Pendle Hill, spanning from 1960-1993. Abstract:: Mary Hopkins (b. 2928), Quaker social worker, lecturer, and feminist, wrote and spoke on the issue of women in the Quaker faith and community. Much of her research involved ancient religions and the ways that modern women can incorporate these ideas into their spiritual life. Hopkins gave lectures and slide shows to many groups. Her research and lectures led to a video series titled Woman and her Symbols. The collection includes letters and papers relating to her education and career as a social worker in Pennsylvania, art research, lectures, and Quaker projects. Her activities included Women's Caucus for Art, Friends General Conference, Friends Conference on Religion and Psychology, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and other Quaker groups.

Abstract:: Horace Mather Lippincott (1877-1967) was a Quaker editor and historian. The collection contains his speeches and writings on topics primarily concerning the Society of Friends and the history of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Of particular interest is the scrapbook he compiled in 1946 of papers and photographs of the 1913-1914 Joint Group which met weekly to study the Separation in the Society of Friends, along with other papers on the topic and on the first joint meeting of the two Philadelphia Yearly Meetings in 1946. The collection includes genealogical research by Horace Mather Lippincott and his brother George E. Lippincott, deeds, and some family papers.

Abstract:: This anonymously written volume provides a list of every meeting held in Colonial United States in 1772. Entries include the locations and dates of the yearly and quarterly meetings, and each entry for a monthly meeting includes a list of the particular meetings belonging to that monthly meeting. Meetings for Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland. The volume includes an index for the meetings at the back.
