- The collection contains files maintained by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia's Office of Finance and Accounting and Office of the Treasurer concerning special funds, bequests, and estates, 1937 to 1987.
The Office of Finance and Accounting of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia was created in March 1971 with the hiring of the first Comptroller, Before this time, the duties of the Comptroller's Office were performed by the College's Executive Director and Executive Secretary or Clerk. The title "Comptroller" became "Controller" by 1990. In 1991, the Controller's Office was renamed the Office of Finance and Accounting, and the Controller became the Director of Finance and Accounting. This is currently [2018] an active office.
