Overview and metadata sections
George Percy (G.P.) Jacomb Hood, was born on July 6, 1857, in Surrey, England. The painter, illustrator, and etcher was a founding member of the New English Art Club and Society of Portrait Painters and was awarded membership in the Royal Victorian Order in 1912. Jacomb Hood married Henrietta (Reta) Kemble de Hochepied Larpent on June 28, 1910, in Marylebone, London. The couple had homes on Tite Street in London and West Street in Rye, East Sussex. Jacomb Hood died on December 11, 1929, in Italy. Henrietta died on February 16, 1941, at the home of her sister, Sybil Marguerite Gonne.

Letters from English artist G.P. (George Percy) Jacomb Hood to his wife, Henrietta de Hochepied Larpent, giving news of his activities and of friends, illustrated with sketches. Includes additional fragments of letters.
Accompanied by financial documents, congratulations letters to Henrietta on her engagement, Larpent familial correspondence, and letters from Charles Straniforth, Simone, and Harry Melville to Henrietta.
