John B. Hutton was a lawyer in Dover and former Deputy Attorney General for the state of Delaware. Hutton served as one of the presidential electors for the state from Delaware after the 1932 presidential election. Even though Franklin D. Roosevelt won the election, Delaware was one of six states won by incumbent Republican President Herbert Hoover.

One ticket to the 1933 inaugural ceremonies for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Vice President John Nance Garner. The ticket, number 57, is made out to John B. Hutton, a presidential elector from Delaware. The events scheduled for presidential electors to attend are listed on the back. The inaugural ceremonies were held between March 3-5, 1933, including multiple receptions, as well as the inaugural ceremonies at the Capitol.
