American poet James Sherry was born on December 30, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His published work includes
Part Songs, In Case, Converses, and Popular Fiction.Sherry is publisher of Roof Books and Segue Books, distributed by Small Press Distribution. Roof Books has published over 100 titles of contemporary poetry and criticism. In the late 1970s, Sherry founded the Segue Foundation, began publishing the poetry journal
Roof, and distributed the critical journal L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E, two of the early seminal publications of the Language poetry movement. The Brooklyn Rail.
