Abstract:
Collection of typescript and typescript (photocopy) manuscripts of work by Isabelle Eberhardt as translated and edited by Paul Bowles for Robert Sharrard at City Lights. Includes: The Breath of of Night, Outside, Preface to Eberhardt's book, Achoura, The Rival, Taalith, Blue Jacket, a letter to the editor of La Petite Gironde, Diary notes, The Country, pencilled notes, and letters to a newspaper editor. The manuscripts bear Bowles's autograph revisions.
