Overview and metadata sections

A typed and signed letter from English writer and anthologies editor Brian W. Aldiss to Mrs. Luan Ranzetta expressing gratitude for having sent him two of her science-fiction novels. Aldiss confirms Ranzetta's suspicion that she might be the only female science-fiction writer in Britain, while acknowledging Hilary Bailey's first story appeared in one of Britain's science-fiction magazines recently. He also mentions America's sole female science-fiction writer at the time Judy Merril, praising her work,

Shadow on the Hearth, though stating that "[s]he has not done anything to rival it since."
