Irish writer and artist Dora Sigerson Shorter (1866-1918) is best remembered for her poetry. She was married to English editor Clement Shorter.

This collection consists of an autograph letter signed "Dora Shorter" to an unidentified person concerning learning to write poetry. The letter is addressed "Dear Sir."
