Henry Tyson Lea (1853-1912) was born in Sandy Spring, Md. He married E. Helen Bentley in 1878; she was a birthright member of Sandy Spring Monthly Meeting, and Henry became a member of the Society of Friends in 1901 while residing in Methuen, Massachusetts. His Kummer cousins, Lucy, Mary C., and Edith Kummer, were the daughters of Charles E. and Letitia Kummer of West Medford, Mass. Charles E. Kummer had been a teacher in Bethlehem, Pa., before moving the family to Massachusetts. Lucy C. Kummer was born in 1865 and was a school teacher. The Kummer sisters did not marry and were close to Henry and Helen Lea and their children.
