Abstract:
Collection of manuscripts of the Lewis and Pratt families of Delaware County in Pennsylvania. Includes bible pages with births, marriages, and deaths, as well as Quaker documents. Of particular interest is a letter from Thomas H. Speakman to his sister, M.M. Jenkinson on an inheritance which also includes a reference to Rowland Johnson, Lucretia Mott, Clement Biddle, and James Martin at the Cherry Street meeting house.

Ruth A. Pratt Dutton who died in 1901 was the daughter of David Pratt and Sarah A. Jones and the granddaughter of Tamer Lewis Pratt.

Method of acquisition--Purchase; Date of acquisition--2008.

Indicator 1 0--Custodian--Deed from James Mott and wife (1849), signed by Lucretia Mott, to Townsend Sharpless, and marriage certificates, Jonas Preston Eyre to Rebecca Wilson (1818) and Joseph Ely to Ann Wilson (1804), are stored with FHL Deeds and Marriage Certificates respectively..
