Stephen Grellet was a prominent Quaker minister. Born in Limoges, France in 1773, he was the son of wealthy Catholics who were ruined in the French Revolution. Once he emigrated to the United States in 1795, Grellet became a convinced member of the Society of Friends. In 1804 he married Rebecca Collins. He travelled around the world preaching. Stephen Grellet died in 1855.
