Overview and metadata sections
Mary Lois Broomell ("Mary Lo") was born Aug. 28, 1918. In 1940, she graduated from Swarthmore College where she met her future husband, Charles "Buzz" Eberle, Jr., also in the Class of 1940. They were married August 2, 1941.
Charles A. Eberle was born Dec. 4, 1916, and died February 10, 1986. Charles served in the Air Force during WWII and subsequently worked for Johns-Manville. Both of the Eberles were staunch supporters of the College, serving as Class officers and fundraisers. The Eberles enjoyed travel, and they participated in 12/4/1916trips abroad sponsored by the Alumni Association. The program was called the Swarthmore Alumni College Abroad.
Contains the typed and photocopied diaries of trips sponsored by Swarthmore College Alumni Department. Mary Lou Eberle recorded in great detail the itinerary, lectures, and sites visited and her impressions.
