Overview and metadata sections
Lewis Walton Brosius (1856-1930), was a Hicksite Quaker teacher, businessman and genealogist from Wilmington, Delaware. The Brosius family arrived in Pennsylvania at the end of the 18th century. Henry Brosius married a Quaker, Mary Roberts, in 1793, and Brosius himself joined the Society of Friends in 1812.
This collection contains the materials collected by Lewis Walton Brosius for his book, Genealogy of Henry and Mary Brosius and their descendants, along with other related family papers and pictures.

Placed in RG 5 by FHL staff prior to 1960. Cased photographs removed in 1999 to PA 107. Deeds, genealogical charts, marriage certificates removed to appropriate folio storage.

Photograph album inscribed "S. Eva Bolton/Presented by the young ladies of her hall, in the winter of 1864 -- Carversville/E.N. Institute" and on inside front cover "This Album belongs to: Mary B. Long/Drumore RD 1/Lancaster Co., Pa." Contains cartes de visites of many of the correspondants in this collection.
