Overview and metadata sections
The Young Friends' Association (Purchase, N.Y.), a Quaker social and study group, was established in Purchase, New York, in 1892. The Association was modeled after a similar organization in Philadelphia; the representative from Purchase Monthly Meeting to a First Day School Conference held in Lincoln, Virginia, in the summer of 1892, had been introduced to the program and a similar program was proposed and adopted in Purchase. The Association met regularly to discuss topics of mutual interest.
The collection contains one bound volume of minutes, 1892-1894.
Donor: Margaret S. Walton, 1977
The collection was given by Margaret S. Walton along with materials on the Haviland family.
Transferred from RG 5/059, Haviland Family Papers, in 1982 and catalogued individually as an RG 4.
