The author is probably Elizabeth O. Abbot, to whom is also attributed Bartram's Garden, Philadelphia, Pa. Published in Philadelphia: Issued by The John Bartram Society, 1904. Abbot graduated from Vassar in 1873 with a B.A.. in biology. She lived in Philadelphia.

Consists of an manuscript written after 1904 comprising an index of plants in William Darlington's Memorials of John Bartram and Humphrey Marshall published by Philadelphia: Lindsay & Blakiston, in 1849. Inscription on label inside front cover: Prepared, and presented to the Bartram Memorial Library, by Miss E. O. Abbot.
