Offenbach was a composer and cellist born in Cologne to Isaac Juda Offenbach né Eberst (1779–1850) and his wife Marianne. He was one of ten children. Living in a musical family--his father was a cantor at a synagogue--Offenbach after learning to play the violin at six was composing songs and dances two years later. He became and accomplished internationally known cellist. Offenbach is best known for his over 100 operettas. In 1844 Offenbach converted to Catholicism and married Hérminie d'Alcain. They had five children.
Primarily by Jacques Offenbach, his brother Julius Offenbach and his father Isaac Juda, formerly Eberst, Offenbach. The volume contains songs for one to three voices with guitar. The title is from the flyleaf.
