This typescript includes a supposed introduction by Theodore Dreiser to Maeterlinck's Cremdementhe and Malaisande, satirizing both Dreiser's American Tragedy and Maeterlinck's Pelléas et Mélisande, appended to an altered copy of James Roy Lester's Letter from an old time salesman to his son (Chicago, 1922).
