Judge Thomas M. Moore was born in 1928 in Wilson, North Carolina. He earned his A. B. degree from the University of North Carolina in 1950, and his Juris Doctor in 1952. Moore served as a First Lieutenant in the army from 1952 to 1954. He was appointed as a bankruptcy judge in the Eastern District of North Carolina in November of 1960. Moore was a member of the American Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and the North Carolina Bar Association.
These papers span the years 1979 - 1990 and contain materials related to Moore's co-authorship of Chapter 12 legislation. They include research and historical material, various legislation, speeches and legal analyses.
