The National Joint Practice Commission, an interprofessional organization aimed at improving health care, was established by action of the American Medical Association and the American Nurses’ Association.
The papers contain bylaws, minutes, financial reports, publications, grant applications, proposals, newsletters, and subject files collected by the donor, Shirley A. Smoyak, during her tenure on the Commission. Dr. Smoyak is a professor at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Bloustein School of Planning and Public Health.
