Cynthia Capers is a nursing leader recorgnized for her service as dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Akron, Chair of the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, a national advisor to the Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing's Future, and a board member of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. She was the first black graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's nursing doctoral program.
