Overview and metadata sections

Howard Van Locke was born in Dublin Mills, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, in January 1887. Locke attended the Medico-Chirurgical College (the 1916 merger of this institution with the Medical School of the University of Pennsylvania led to the formation of the Graduate School of Medicine at Penn in 1919). After his graduation in 1911, Locke practiced in Orbisonia, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, for twenty-nine years until his death in September 1941.

This memorabilia collection consists of eight photographs, seven miscellaneous personal documents or objects related to Locke's experience at the Medico-Chirurgical College, as well as a reminiscent account of Howard Van Locke by his daughter Gwen Locke Gibson.
