Walter C. Longstreth was born in Philadelphia on February 15, 1881. Before entering the University of Pennsylvania Law School he graduated from Friends' Central School in 1897, and received his A.B from Amherst College in 1901. Longstreth graduated from Penn in 1904 with his LL.B., working in private practice until his retirement in 1960. A life long Quaker, he was a member of the Green Street Monthly Meeting. During World War II he served as counsel to conscientious objectors. Longstreth died in Philadelphia on January 23, 1975.
The Walter C. Longstreth Scrapbook contains various printed material items documenting Longstreth's experience at the University of Pennsylvania Law school and following his graduation. It contains material related to Longstreth's academic, social, and legal affiliations. In addition, a few items related to Amherst College are also included.
