Overview and metadata sections

These scrapbooks document the performance of the University of Pennsylvania's football team from 1940-1943. The clippings not only contain information on game results, but analyze team strategy, follow the ball during games, highlight star players and coaches, and document reactions and commentary on team performance. The color photographs on the inside cover of one of the scrapbooks depict a packed Franklin Field during a 1941 game.

This scrapbooks consist of newspaper clippings, color photographs, and a handwritten poem arranged chronologically.

The University of Pennsylvania Football Scrapbooks were a gift from Andrew Conger in June 2000 (accession number 2000:049).
