Richard Gimbel was an American businessman, World War veteran, book collector, and professor and curator at Yale University. His father was chairman of the board at the Gimbel Brothers Company in Philadelphia.
Charles Sessler owned Charles Sessler's Bookshop in Philadelphia, which specialized in rare books, autographs, prints, and paintings.
