Nathan S. C. Folwell was a Philadelphia poet, printer and Civil War veteran who was an active member of the Knights of Pythias and the Order of United Friends.
A bound scrapbook of handwritten poems, newspaper clippings, and handbills documenting Folwell's war experiences as an infantryman in the 163rd Keystone Reserves (Boonesboro, MD. battle) and his postwar social life as an active member of the fraternal orders of the Knights of Pythias, Banneret Lodge, and the Order of United Friends, Philadelphia Council No. 44.
