Overview and metadata sections
The Urban Land Institute (ULI) and ULI Philadelphia District Council established the Delaware Valley Smart Growth Alliance (DVSGA) in 2003 with the DVSGA board and its smart growth recognition program forming in 2004. The DVSGA was a tri-state consortium covering Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware that promoted anti-sprawl development that was environmentally friendly, fiscally sound, incorporated land-use planning and mixed-use development. Through an independent jury of architects, planners, developers, builders, bankers, engineers, and other related disciplines, DVSGA's recognition program evaluated development projects, land conservation, and policies for "smart growth" adherence. The organization ceased operations in 2021.
The collection consists of Delaware Valley Smart Growth Alliance (DVSGA) board agendas and meeting minutes, financial records, outgoing correspondence, event files, documents related to DVSGA's smart growth recognition program, and special project files including the 5 YESES campaign to promote sustainable regional development in the Greater Philadelphia region and a 2020 survey on behaviors impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Dates are based on when the files were last modified. Some filenames include dates which may be an indication of when the file was created.

Collection is open for research. Survey data, registration, mailing and contact lists containing personally identifying information are restricted for 10 years from date modified. Digital records have been migrated to a library server and digital use copies can only be accessed onsite in the SCRC reading room.
