Overview and metadata sections

The Roumanian American Congregation began with the merger of Or Chudosh and Agudas Achim Congregations in 1910, which coincided with the congregation's purchase of the building at 418 Spruce Street. The Roumanian American Congregation was Orthodox. The congregation dissolved in the mid-1960s.

The Roumanian American Congregation (Philadelphia, Pa.) Records consists of financial ledgers, receipt books, check books, yahrzeit cards, records of dues, blank letterhead, and tickets which date from 1910 to 1954.

The collection is arranged alphabetically by folder title.

Transferred by Nancy Tobin, February 28, 1980. Portions donated by Keith Rand on October 22, 1980. Collection previously administered by the Philadelphia Jewish Archives Center, acquired by Temple in June 2009.
